The Griffin has been a mythical creature in various cultures dating back to ancient times. Half-eagle and half-lion, this legendary beast represents the king of birds and king of beasts. As a symbol of strength, courage, and watchfulness, he is often seen as the guardian of divine treasures.

The Griffin also found its way into modern popular culture! In <Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban>, a golden Griffin named Stairwell Gargoyle guards the Headmaster's Office.

Meanwhile, the half-eagle and half-horse Hippogriff bears a striking resemblance to the Griffin.
